Community food fund for food shares with Fat Chance Farmstead and Doublejay Farms
Quality local food isn't accessible to everyone in our community and as local farmers we want to do more to change that. Fat Chance Farmstead and Doublejay Farms are partnering on a pilot project to raise funds to get our nutritious local food to households that usually don't have access to our food. The funds will initially allow us to provide Food Box memberships of weekly produce from Fat Chance and ground beef from Doublejay Farms. South Frontenac Community Services will help us to connect our Food Box with folks in our community.
Would you consider contributing to get this pilot project going? Our modest goal is to raise enough to offer 10 shares in 2023 with an amount of $9000. The funds would go towards the cost of producing the food and distributing it to families in the community.
There's two ways to contribute at the moment:
1) Add any quantity of the $25 "Community food fund" item to your shopping cart.
2) E-transfer us (firstname.lastname@example.org) any amount you're comfortable with with a memo that it is for the "community food fund"
