Community food fund

Community food fund

Community food fund for food shares with Fat Chance Farmstead, Doublejay Farms and Grains and Goods bakery.

Quality local food isn't accessible to everyone in our community and as local food producers we want to do more to change that. Fat Chance Farmstead, Grains and Goods bakery and Doublejay Farms are partnering on a project to raise funds to get our nutritious local food to households that usually don't have access to our food. The funds will allow us to provide a weekly food box of fresh produce from Fat Chance, a loaf of bread from Grains and Goods and ground beef from Doublejay Farms. South Frontenac Community Services and Pathways to Education will help us to connect our food box with folks in our community.

Would you consider contributing to this project in 2024? Our modest goal is to raise enough to offer 15 shares in 2023 with an amount of $15,000. The funds would go towards the cost of producing the food and distributing it to families in the community.

There's two ways to contribute at the moment:

1) Add any quantity of the $30 "Community food fund" item to your shopping cart.

2) E-transfer us (doublejayfarms@gmail.com) any amount you're comfortable with with a memo that it is for the "community food fund"
